Since I am an artist by nature, designing custom furniture and rugs comes quite natural. I find great pleasure in taking a sketch that came from my mind and transforming it into a piece that is unusual. Often, the opportunities for this come when a client has exhausted all other sources and sometimes it is just the obvious way to go.
Each design is uniquely my own, and I have several artisans from which to pull. There is no need for concern about going over budget, when designing a new piece, it is easy to sketch a simpler line or curve which in turn will take the cost even more below.
Having been in the industry for over ten years, I have had the opportunity to meet several artisans who range from hand carved marble, one of a kind blown glass or just a unique piece of art and custom veneer furniture. And as with working with a true Interior Designer. this is where the rubber meets the road; creating what a customer wants….at a price they can afford.
That is my motto.
Custom Window Treatments
If there is one thing that I have learned about fabric, it is that when it comes to window treatments, it can have a mind of its own! One of the first projects that I did as a young fledging designer was over ten thousand dollar budget! Since then, I have had the opportunity to assist clients with window treatments that are much more reasonable! (Thank God, she says!) There are many tricks of the trade to keep the costs down, and I have a few tricks of my own! (No, I am not going to tell them! You will just have to see for yourself and trust me in your home!)
In the world of Interior Design, fabric is often where the designs begin. There are thousands of colors and patterns to choose from, and ever home is unique on its own. This is where it gets complicated, what to do with yours?!
